Happy New Year! Welcome to the January issue of your Monthly Spotlight from Scene Health. Check out this month’s updates, including what’s happening at Scene, relevant medication adherence news, and upcoming events we’ll be participating in.
The new year is for looking ahead, but 2022 was an amazing year for all of us at Scene Health. Obviously, we have a new name and brand that more accurately reflect who we are and what we do. But last year also brought six new peer-reviewed articles (for a total of 18 so far!) that validate our programs, multiple awards and recognition, an expanded leadership team to help us manage significant growth, plus so much more!
The panel, Deconstructing Healthcare Using Determinants of Health at the annual Future of Medicaid Innovation Forum, featured a diverse group of founders (including our CEO, Sebastian Seiguer) who are using novel approaches to solve one of healthcare’s most pressing issues — health inequity.
Data security is critical to the digital health industry. At Scene Health, our public health, health plan, health system, research, and trials clients trust us with their patients’ and members’ personal health information. We take that responsibility seriously and continually invest in security best practices.
After record high Star Ratings resulting from changes brought about by COVID, October’s ratings came back to earth with a serious (but expected) reality check. This article highlights key trends and lessons for health plans to take to heart — a reminder that member satisfaction and patient engagement should be year-round goals, not just metrics to hit during redetermination or as annual milestones.
A link between depression and medication adherence? Researchers at UPMC found that patients with depression who received percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) had lower medication adherence rates than those who received PCI without a diagnosis of depression. The researchers noted that better depression screening for patients receiving PCI should be incorporated into treatment plans.
Sebastian Seiguer, CEO of Scene Health, and Dr. Kevin Hallgren of the University of Washington School of Medicine discuss the benefits of video observation of methadone dosing for patient safety, policy, and the behavioral health backlog. The interview is a synopsis of the study published in October 2022 in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment.
Our team will be attending some great conferences this spring. We’d love to say hello if you will be there as well. Reply to this email to let us know if you plan to attend and we’ll be sure to connect!
We are sponsoring the conference and our CEO, Sebastian Seiguer, will be speaking on an Innovative Virtual Care Initiatives panel with representatives from UHC, Amerihealth Caritas, and the Mississippi State Department of Health.
We will be attending ViVE, a leading conference for digital health leaders, health technology, and healthcare investors. Join the industry's curated event experience for senior digital health leaders focusing on the business of healthcare systems.
